permission permit for Tibet
Dear all, im a student in Shanghai, me and my tibetan freind are planning to go to tibet this summer to visit his family and his hometown. However i've read that my chinese resident permit isn't enough. and that i need a special permit to go to tibet...I would like to know if your agency could provide some permissions. While knowing that i'm travelling with my freind and not with your agency-group-trip.

Hello Sam,

Thanks for your message. Firstly, you're right you must obtain a Tibet Travel Permit issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau to visit Tibet. And this permit can only be applied by travel agencies in Tibet. Secondly, according to Tibet Tourism Bureau policies, foreigners are not allowed to travel independently without a tour guide from licensed travel agency accompanying with. So sorry being unable to help.
