Today you will visit the Drak Yerpa which plays a significant role in the Tibetan spiritual culture, and then visit the Sera Monastery, and the “Buddhism Scriptures Debating” in Sera is very famous. Enjoy the debate!

The overwhelming Potala Palace is your first stop. As the symbol of Tibet, it was built in 641 AD and was the winter palace of Dalai Lama who is Tibet’s pope. Impressive Tibetan architecture, huge golden Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted pilgrims all make it a must-visit.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Every day, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek here from long distances to worship. Finally, walk the special circular pilgrimage route as local followers always do at Barkhor Street.

In the morning you'll start the drive to Shigatse via Gyantse on the Southern Friendship Highway. You'll see the turquoise Lake Yamdrok Yumtso when crossing over the summit of Kamba La Pass (4794m). Far in the distance you'll spot the towering massif Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m), and the staggering Karo-la Glacier (5045m). Afterwards, you’ll drive to Shigatse, and overnight there.

In the morning, you will visit Tashilumpo Monastery, the home of the Panchen Lama, which is essentially a walled town with cobbled and twisting lanes that revolve around a magnificent monastery. Enjoy the beautiful view of the valley en route. You can also see devout Christians prostrating and measuring their pilgrimage route with their flesh and blood on Tibetan Plateau if you’re lucky. Drive back to Lhasa in the afternoon.
